If you were good little suckerlover’s you would have known to listen to The Edge last night and upon doing so would have heard some great new accoustic tracks played by Placebo, in addition to an interview with [an ill] Brian Molko. Suckerlove can provide you with an interesting direct quote from the host Steve Harris:
“Might try and get them to hang around and do a version of Drag which is going to be the next single, which is amazing, me and Silent Dave’s favourite song off of the album.”
Upon further investigation other sources say that Drag will be released sometime mid year. This is an interesting statement given the strong rumour which said it would be Infra-red, only time will tell!
Interestingly there is now a poll regarding the next single on the official French website. Additionally comments made by Brian in a recent French magazine interview and the meds section on Placeboworld would indicate that if there is indecision Infra-red is at least still in consideration.
If you were naughty and didn’t listen, there’s some consolation. Go to the Virgin Radio Website and from Monday there’ll be a stream of the interview and acoustic session!
On March 15th Placebo treated fans to an intimate concert and signing at Oxford Street’s Virgin Megastore, also Brian attended a VIP Launch Party for GAP (Red). See below for pictures of both events:

Meds has finally hit stores around the world, and not surprisingly many Placebo fans were instantly addicted!
Internationally there has been much confusion between fans regarding which versions will be released in their country, particularly America. Click on the diagram by mrs_spork to get a clearer idea if you’re still having problems. The American limited edition will not be released with the hardcase/40 page booklet, but will still be both CD & DVD, though presented in a jewel case with a smaller booklet. Placeboworld are asking fans not to import as I imagine this will affect your country’s sales and possibly tours.

On Placebo X-posed, the band tell their full story [apparently] in their own words, via a set of previously unheard interviews, recounting what inspires them, what keeps their music relevant, how they’ve managed to sell millions of records and much, much more. This is a rare opportunity to hear a band at their absolute peak revealing all, and is a must have item for every fan of this incredible group.
Also drop by Placeboworld to view a slide show of recording Broken Promise with Michael Stipe and view a video of Brian and Stefan talk about recording Placebo’s duets with Alison and Michael. Plus plenty of other updates today, some of which have previously been mentioned @ suckerlove.

Interview with The Ticket @ DailyMirror.co.uk
Well, Hello Duckies!
Placebo are Quack with a New Album, but Want Fans to Quit Throwing Ducks
PLACEBO’S achievements in the 10 years since Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal met by chance at a London tube station have been considerable. With drummer Steve Hewitt, they have sold five million albums, got a greatest hits album under their belt, and have had duets with stars such as David Bowie, The Cure’s Robert Smith and Marilyn Manson.
They’ve survived drug binges and seen many of their peers fall by the wayside. But their new album Meds shows them at the top of their game, boasting dark and lusty rock with brooding atmospheres and melodic class. Sitting in their South London rehearsal space, Stefan and Brian ponder why they have lasted the course. (more…)
