It has beeen a week since the 2006 ‘Australian’ Meds tour dates were released with the disappointing exclusion of my home town Adelaide, SA and fellow city Perth, WA.
As Placebo’s latest release ranked #4 on Australian charts and previous tours including these cities sold out we are petitioning to have these locations re-included in the Australian tour schedule. So far we haven’t heard back from official promoters, but hope to get radio station JJJ on side and make a difference!
If you are from one of these states, or even just from Australia and would consider attending please sign the petition, quickly pass it on to friends in real life and online (but do so politely!).

BOOK: Guitar Eros – Jean-Baptiste Mondino
Hardcover: 160 pages
Publisher: Schirmer/Mosel (May 30, 2006)
Language: English
ISBN: 3829602340 [purchase]
Jean-Baptiste Mondino’s digitally processed photographs and video clips radically changed the commercial strategies of the rock, pop and fashion industry and made him a guru of the trade. Yet, Mondino originally started as a disc jockey and composer. Music is still his favorite subject and the electric guitar his favorite instrument. No wonder, ever since Picasso and Braque created their first guitar still lifes, this instrument stands for the mesmerizing combination of music, erotics, and modernism. In his new
book Mondino presents his guitar photographs created over the past twenty years as commissioned works or his own projects. They portray famous rock and pop musicians such as Mick Jagger, Madonna, Tom Waits, and Keith Richards; models and celebrities with guitars; and numerous anonymous guitar players. Central subject and the undisputed star of each picture, however, is the guitar itself.
Shown right, also featured in this artistic release is Placebo front man, Brian Molko.
