Our wonderful sucker-love.com admin, rougevelvet from Australia, arranged a VIP pass and presented me with the opportunity to snap a few pics whilst surrounded by the immortal Holy Trinity of the ‘Bo. Want to be part of a video for the forthcoming Placebo single Meds? All from the comfort of your own home, or anywhere really?? Thanks to Xtaster it’s about as simple as simple can be.
WHAT TO DO:
First, check out the current videos for Meds here:
Then, have a think about the song, what you’ve seen and heard – and then we want you to record some video footage (on your mobile or with your webcam or something) of either you singing along to Meds, something that reflects the content/lyrics of the song, or anything at all that the song inspires in you.
Once you’ve got your bit of video, email it to: placebovideo@xtaster.co.uk
Each week Xtaster will host a gallery of a selection of the different clips we’ve received. At the end, they will be editing the best clips together, in sync to the music, and then you can use that video (which may well feature your clip) to help promote Placebo even more so! YouTube will be our best friend!
There aren’t really any guidelines, but don’t send in porno or offensive videos… Xtaster won’t like it and the clip obviously won’t be included in the finished product.
Good luck!

Australian radio station Triple J (JJJ) have always been big supporters of Placebo. In fact they even interviewed sucker-love.com on air to try and broaden the Australian tour.
Recently the radio station has expanded to incorporate Jtv. Whilst Placebo were in Australia a few weeks ago Robbie Buck caught up with Brian Molko backstage at Sydney’s Horden Pavilion, 20th September 2006.
You can catch the interview online in 56kb or broadband speeds:

Additionally Placebo’s 2004 concert from the Horden Pavilion has once again received enough votes to be part of JJJ’s Impossible Music Festival weekend.

On our trip earlier this year to the studio where Placebo were recording their fifth album, ‘MEDS’ which has now been released, Warez.com managed to corner William Patrick Lloyd, (better known as Bill) who has perhaps one of the best and most unusual jobs in the music industry, and got him to answer a few questions. Bill acts as a kind of interface between Placebo and their crew; sort of half a fourth member, half tech. He does a bit of everything from playing and programming to looking after the equipment side of things. You can usually see him at Placebo gigs lurking at the back of the stage, playing extra guitar and keyboard parts and trying not to be noticed. He wouldn’t even let us take his photo for this interview on account of his modesty and shyness!
