It has now been one year since Meds was leaked on to the internet. Throughout the following twelve months the band members have all expressed their disappointment and have been asked about possible ways to combat such illegal activities. From their answers it is evident that Placebo are aware fans crave immediate access to their music whenever possible, so it is good to see that they are now embracing the digital medium of legal downloading; not only with Live At Cigale, as released in 2006, but now an exclusive accoustic set that can only be purchased online.
Placebo recorded an exclusive acoustic session for iTunes last October in a studio in San Francicso, USA. The band spent the day recording unique versions of familiar tracks from the album ‘Meds’, which included ‘Because I Want You’, ‘Meds’ and ‘Song To Say Goodbye’, plus a stunning cover version of Sinead O’Connor’s track ‘Jackie’.
The result was spectacular, and you can find out for yourself here.
Continuing to embrace the digital age; Placebo’s four year old cover of Kate Bush’s classic Running Up That Hill is currently number 35 in the iTunes chart! Astounding considering the track was first released with the special edition of Sleeping With Ghosts. Of course this is largely thanks to the latest push of the track in America, and as a result it will now be included in the USA release of Meds.
Buy it now from: iTunes // 7 Digital

If you don’t have Running Up That Hill or you would like to hear the exclusive acoustic set, please support the band you love by purchasing the tracks online!

On January 7th Placebo were apparently hosts of NewNowNext Music on the LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) American television station, Logo. The show features rising LGBT bands and artists, premiering new episodes every Sunday at midnight and then re-airing them throughout the following week. Streaming videos from each episode are also available free online, along with exclusive interviews with the artists. At this stage there is no video of Placebo available online, however sucker-love.com has lodged a special request with the station on behalf of fans.

Placebo News[13] Comments
Throughout 2006 it has become clear that Placebo may finally be making sizable growth in their American fanbase. The recent tour, rumour of a 2007 return and a strong push on popular teen tv shows such as The OC, One Tree Hill and Bones are all strong indicators that the band finally have their eyes set firmly on the task of conquering the US of A.
Though Meds was released on Astralwerks during 2006, apparently the band have just signed a deal with Virgin Records US to do a huge push in the states. Further evidence of this push can be seen in the January 23rd, 2007 re-issue of Meds in America.
Possible (and varying) tracklistings can now be found via Amazon and CD Universe.
sucker-love.com has been diligently working away to secure fans some more breaking information for a while now, but it seems things are at a stand still. Any further interesting or important updates will of course be added to the website upon revelation.
