September 2007

Well in case it isn’t already evident, Placebo news is starting to slow down quite a bit and ’twill come to an all together halt quite soon. *said with a tear in the eye and a twitch of anticipatory withdrawal*

For now here’s a lingering interview remnant from Projekt Revolution between our Molks and the Yale Daily News, written by Justin Jannise.

Between sips of Red Bull and long drags on three (I counted) Marlboro Lights, Brian Molko, the lead singer of Placebo – the best of six main stage acts at Linkin Park’s 2007 Projekt Revolution tour — acted calm and cozy less than two hours before show time. I found Molko, once infamous for pushing the envelope with androgynous costumes and irreverent lyrics, surprisingly normal. He carried the conversation in much the same way he lead Placebo onstage: with an old soul’s mix of humor, maturity and impatience.

Some lucky USA based webzines have had the opportunity to probe into the minds of our Placebo bandlings during the home stretch of Projekt Revolution.

-First up comes, Shame-Free with a slashably quotable Stefan Olsdal, who refers to the closeness developed between the band members with the example that they’ve shared underwear on occasion during this tour. [video previously posted to the suckerlove community, will be added to the site eventually.]

-Next in line sees Stefan doing double duties when he takes on yet another interview, this time with Anarchy Music. Posted with this interview are some great images, for once some pretty good information and Mr Bo Olsdal alludes to the fact that there may be a future DVD in the works to get us fans through the frightening downtime in the next few years.

“We’re gonna see if there’s something filmed on this tour that we could release A DVD [of] or something. I don’t know; we’re still working on it. We know it’s important not to be away for too long.”

-Finally Brian undertakes his second interview with the loverly folk at Suicide Girls where he discusses his favourite acts from Projekt Revolution, the works of Satan, aka American Idol and various musical and literary influences.

As for Mr. Steve Hewitt, well, he was last seen hiding from the press under a blanket.
